    within my practice.

My practice draws from attachment and trauma theory and I use a number of modalities in session including Internal Family Systems (IFS),  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and some elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. I also utilize somatic techniques within my practice. I am also passionate about challenging the stigma surrounding mental health issues, radical self-care and a HAES (Health At Every Size) approach to health and wellbeing. I use a feminist framework for practice and my work is underpinned by ethics of social justice and advocacy, and appreciation of intersectional oppression and the pursuit of dignity in a world where this is lacking for many. In addition to my role in private practice, I am currently working as a trauma specialist counsellor in a non-government organisation. I work with individuals 16 years and above and am fluent in Spanish and comfortable in providing psychotherapeutic services in this language. It is known that the most important factor for a successful therapeutic outcome is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. I have a warm and empathetic
approach, and my first priority is for you to feel safe, not just physically but also emotionally. Emotional safety means that you feel free to be you, to reveal parts of yourself that you normally keep to yourself for fear of being disliked or rejected. Together we can explore the origin of unhelpful behaviours and coping mechanisms so you can find more effective ways to respond to life challenges. I will help you tap into the resilience that is already within you. I believe that healthy relationships, a sense of purpose and a good dose of self-worth are essential for a meaningful, content life. When the right support is available, everyone has the capacity to heal from past traumas and adverse experiences in order to achieve ongoing psychological wellbeing.

Often our life experiences of fear & hurt can cause us to create subconscious blockages in mind, body & spirit. When we start to foster a positive relationship with ourselves, we become better equipped to identify the patterns of thinking & behaviour that inhibit our growth & development on a personal, professional & spiritual level. I have experienced firsthand the benefits that come from an integrated approach grounded in ancient yoga practices. For me, this approach has been an anchor in tough times and a shining light in uncertainty that never fails to teach me to go deeper within to find the answers. With this integrated approach, I hope to help you create the space & balance in your life so that you too can connect to your inner wisdom and start to make more conscious choices toward living a joyous, balanced & healthier life.
